The Crystal Ship Street Art Festival, Ostend, Belgium 2017

After the success of the first The Crystal Ship 2016, curated by Bjørn Van Poucke, the team have just wrapped up another edition. During the first week of the Belgian Easter Holidays (3-8th April) the streets of Ostend were graced with twenty international street artists such as Axel Void, Phlegm, Alexis Diaz, Henrik Uldalen and C215, all leaving their permanent mark on the city by the sea.

The festival began with Schellekens & Peleman’s gigantic ‘Inflatable Refugee’ arriving into Montgomery Dock via boat.

This years artists did not disappoint and included artists such as Alexis Diaz, Axel Void, Bosoletti, Buck, C215, Hell’O Collective, Hyuro, Jaune, Johannes Mundinger, Levalet, Nelio, Nuart presents Henrik Uldalen, Outings Project, Pastel, Phlegm, Ricky Lee Gordon, Schellekens and Peleman, Sebas Velasco, SpY and Strook.

The festival sent seismic waves throughout the city of Ostend! The murals were painted until the 8th April 2017, with the weekend Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of April hosting the grand opening of the festival. Check out some the finished murals below …
