Artscape Street Art Festival, Gothenburg, Sweden 2016

This summer street art festival Artscape landed in Gothenburg, Sweden’s alternative culture capital, as part of the city’s build up to its 400th anniversary in 2021. Between 25th July & 21st August 2016, twenty international and Swedish street artists were invited to create and paint in all ten districts of the city, making Artscape Scandinavia’s largest ever street art festival.

Artscape is an organisation that seeks to inspire people and promote public art for everyone. Artscape 2014 in Malmö was Sweden’s first ever international street art festival and the positive response to it has paved the way for more participants within street art. Together with the City of Gothenburg’s department of Culture the festival is in full preparation – this is the first time a city of the size of Gothenburg contributed with all districts in a similar project.

Artists invited were Hueman, Yash, Eine, Magda Sayeg, Ollio, Ana María, Jarus, Elina Metso och, LiGiSD, Ajja Artist, Robots, Bless, Cityzenkane, Code26, Rone, Koralie and Supakitch, Henrietta Kozica and AnimalitoLand.

Check out some of the awesome murals below, a great addition to Gothenburg, Sweden’s alternative culture capital.
