La Staa’s ‘No Lifeguard on Duty’ at Club Aquarium, London

Less than 24 hours after arriving from Oslo, Norwegian stencil artist La Staa was back on the streets of London, installing a new piece at dawn.

Leaving his trademark King chess piece on the Shoreditch Art Wall was clearly not enough. For his latest intervention, No Lifeguard on Duty, La Staa selected a location that could hardly have been more appropriate: Club Aquarium, the only nightclub in London with both a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi.

First opened in 1995, Club Aquarium is something of a London nightlife veteran, much like The Hoff himself. La Staa may have spared the Baywatch legend any further hassle, but his warning remains clear for anyone tempted to take a late-night plunge: there is no lifeguard on duty, so swim at your own risk.
