Street Artist Spaik Returns to the Tunnels for Bloop festival, 2017

BLOOP Street Art Festival, an avant-garde art project by BiokipLabs, will officially be taking place from 23rd August to 9th September in Ibiza.

This celebration of People and Arts is completely free for everybody, showcasing fine arts to new arts such as graffiti, video mappings, cutting edge music, paintings, sculptures, workshops, interactive installations and many more. The festival’s theme is dedicated to CHANGES this year.

Spaik has left his marks for the second time on the white isle for BLOOP Festival`s Openair gallery. A long term project to convert an entire island into a gallery under the skies. It has requailified a whole city and now all murals and installations are sprinkled across the island, over 20 and counting. Last year, Spaik painted an eagle in a tunnel to address the Festival`s 2016 theme NO FEAR.

For this edition he painted a snake on the other end of the tunnel.

This reptile was imported to Ibiza due to the arrival of the olive trees.

Since then, their numbers have soared and now they are considered as a pest and a predator.

But at the same time this serpent is a prey for the eagle. For this changing role, prey thus predator, the Mexican artist chose the snake for the theme CHANGES.

Check back in August for the Bloop festival 2017.
