Released in 2014 to coincide with the launch of the FlashInvaders smartphone application, Invasion Kit #16 marks a pivotal moment in Invader’s ever-expanding global invasion. Featuring the instantly recognisable icon of the app itself, the work celebrates the technology that transformed the artist’s worldwide network of mosaics into a living, interactive archive, allowing collectors and enthusiasts to locate, photograph and authenticate works across the globe.

As both a sculptural multiple and a symbol of the FlashInvaders phenomenon, Invasion Kit #16 captures the moment when Invader’s practice evolved from an urban treasure hunt into one of the world’s largest collaborative public art projects. It remains one of the most conceptually significant editions within the celebrated Invasion Kit series.
