This year, Spanish artist Brea opens the season with a striking bouquet of flowers, painted in his signature hyperreal style. The mural elevates a monumental façade into a contemporary still life, bringing the intimacy of classical painting into the public realm.

Set within a crisp white frame, the floral composition blooms against a deep shadowed background, creating a theatrical sense of depth and presence, as though the bouquet has been lifted from a gallery interior and placed into the open air.

A bouquet as a statement: beginning the year in colour
In the mural, Brea paints an abundant arrangement of blossoms in saturated reds, pinks, violets, and warm amber tones. The bouquet feels intimate yet monumental, inviting viewers to approach the wall as they would a painting: slowly, closely, attentively.

This careful balance between realism and atmosphere is central to Brea’s practice. Light moves across petals and leaves with the precision of oil painting, while the shadows retain a softness that suggests memory, silence, and time.

Brea bouquet mural translates the tradition of still life painting into a contemporary urban landmark, offering residents and visitors a new visual highlight within the town’s expanding street art route. Painted with striking realism and a strong sense of light and depth, the bouquet elevates a familiar subject into a monumental public artwork. As part of the Hip Hop Street Vícar Festival programme, the mural strengthens Vícar’s reputation as a leading destination for urban art in Almería and beyond.
