HOXXOH at Arlo Wynwood Miami: The 14,000 Sq Ft Mural Transforming Miami’s Skyline

HOXXOH Arlo Wynwood Miami Mural transforms the Arlo Hotel’s façade into one of the most striking contemporary artworks in Miami.

Rising 135 feet above NW Miami Court, HOXXOH’s monumental mural for Arlo Wynwood Miami unfolds like a living current across 14,000 square feet of exterior wall. Completed in just over two weeks with a team of five and more than 600 cans of spray paint, the work marks his largest curated mural to date. It is both an architectural intervention and a meditation on motion.

The Making of the HOXXOH Arlo Wynwood Miami Mural

Completed in just over two weeks with a team of five, the HOXXOH Arlo Wynwood Mural required more than 600 cans of spray paint. Adapted from a smaller studio action painting, the work expands vertically into layered currents of blue, teal and coral that echo Miami’s Atlantic horizon and Art Deco legacy.

With the exciting opening, the 217-room Arlo Wynwood Miami has positioned itself as a cultural anchor within Miami’s most visually charged neighbourhood. With artworks also integrated throughout the property, the hotel operates as a porous gallery, reflecting the creative ecosystem that surrounds it. HOXXOH’s mural forms its most commanding gesture, wrapping the nine-storey façade in rhythmic abstraction.

Adapted from a smaller action painting developed in HOXXOH’s studio, the composition expands vertically into a vortex of layered lines and saturated colour. Electric blues, tidal teals and flashes of coral orange evoke Miami’s Atlantic horizon and sunlit Art Deco heritage. The surface seems to breathe. Striations ripple upward in fluid bands, bending and folding as though shaped by gravity and time itself. Some viewers glimpse marine creatures within the forms, perhaps an octopus emerging from the depths. The artist describes such sightings as coincidence, an organic byproduct of movement rather than intention.

What distinguishes this mural is its sense of scale, with the building becomes a vessel for motion. Geometry dissolves into flow. Architecture yields to rhythm. HOXXOH’s language of spheres and cycles translates seamlessly from canvas to concrete, transforming the hotel’s north wall into a field of contemplation within an urban grid.

Created in collaboration with Meyer Davis and Quadrum for Arlo Hotels, the project embodies a shared belief in hospitality as experience. Guests encounter the mural before they cross the threshold, entering a space where time, colour and structure converse.

In a city known for surface and speed, HOXXOH offers something slower and more expansive. A reminder that even in the heart of Wynwood’s constant reinvention, there is room to pause and feel the tide.
