In the quiet streets of Pasarón de la Vera, Cáceres, this floral new mural is bringing Baroque-inspired beauty to the town’s nursing home. Titled The Town of Love, this work was created for Muro Critico and offers a fresh chapter in the artist’s evolving style… one that leans into the rich composition and dramatic light characteristic of Baroque painting.

What makes this mural so powerful is its simplicity: a monumental bouquet of roses, where colour and light take centre stage. The idea, the artist shares, took root during a serendipitous visit to Madrid’s annual Flower Market. There, amid countless arrangements, a single bouquet of roses stood out. Its mix of fresh buds, full blooms, and fading petals became a visual metaphor for the passage of time, a theme that resonates deeply on the walls of a home for the elderly.

In a beautiful twist of fate, the artist only discovered while painting that Pasarón de la Vera is known as The Town of Love. Locals even asked if that’s why roses were chosen. The answer? Pure coincidence! but a fitting one. After all, is there any flower more connected to love than the rose?
