David Walker adds to the Street Art Scene for Wall Street Festival, Paris 2017

UK, Berlin based street artist David Walker’s been painting in the south of Paris, in the heart of the city of Lieusaint (12,000 inhabitants) for the ‘Wall Street Art Festival‘, curated by artistic director Gautier Jourdain of Le Mur, 100 walls of youth and galerie Mathgoth.

The festival came about after the 2015 street art fest that saw fifty artists (Speedy Graphito, Clet, Cranio, Monkeybirds etc) take over the southern suburbs of Paris, Evry center Essonne. Now the agglomeration community is called Grand Paris Sud and has grown from six to twenty four municipalities.

While continuing the street art murals, the idea is to give a second breath to the festival so that it still gains in notoriety. Other artist invited to breathe some new life into the city are Case Maclaim, Fintan Magee, C215, Astro etc.

David Walker’s mural is the portrait of a young woman named Yuli. One recognizes the artist’s particular graffiti style, colourful layers forming a portrait that sometimes borders with hyperrealism.

The next artist for Wall Street Art Festival is famous german artist ECB. He will begin his mural around June 6 in the city Evry. Stay tuned for updates …
