NUART 2016, Stavanger, Norway officially begins today!!

The highly anticipated annual international street art festival Nuart 2016, in Stavanger, West Coast of Norway has officially begun. Nuart is a leading street art festival that attracts both pioneers and up and coming talents focusing exclusively on Street Art since 2005.

NUART production has been running for a week preparing the streets of Stavanger and ‘Tou scene’,a large converted Victorian brewery which is the hub of the festival, for some seriously amazing artwork. Nuart officially begins today, 8th September 2016 and you can check out the schedule below…

The event to kick off Nuart’s official opening begins with the ‘opening’ of the ‘The Aftenblad Wall’ at 1700hrs. The wall is in collaboration with Stavanger Aftenblad newspaper and was launched last year, by Sandra Chevrier as a new public art initiative. The initiative invites artists to create work on a large-scale billboard in the heart of Stavanger. This is a permanent site for public art rather than a temporary billboard intervention. This years artist see Kennard Phillips take over the wall…

With a jam packed program for Nuart 2016 we can see why this festival has become one of the leading festivals in the world. While the last preparations are going ahead lets have a look at whats been happening in the smArt City of Norway…
