Hands Off The Wall comes to Werksviertel Mitte in Munich, Germany, to celebrate its fifth birthday! The festival originated in 2019 Vienna, Austria and has since moved to Munich, Germany. Over the last few years, the festival has hosted some of the greatest artists in the scene.
Hands Off The Wall is the brainchild of the Austrian artist Chinagirl Tile. Together with filmmaker Nadine Taschler and Peter Taschler, she formed the non-profit Verein “HANDS OFF THE WALL, Verein zur Förderung von Kunst von Frauen “. Together with their Munich partners Loomit, Magdalena Waller and members from Verein Urbane Kunst and Werksviertel Mitte, they put the spotlight on female artists.
Female artists invited this year are MJ Lindo-Lawyer (US), LANÓ (BR), Chris Matos (BR), NADIA VAN LUIJK (NL), Hello The Mushroom (NL), Amanda Valdes (US), Sprite (UK),, curtiscreationz (UK), MRS&MR GARCIA (ES), Arquicostura studio (ES), Leni Burger (GER), Laura Piantoni (GER), FLOX (NZ), Kaldea (FR), Katrin Lazaruk (BY/GER), Omikron 27 (GER), Miriam Ganser (GER), Ptashka Somari (UA/GER), MoveRama (BA), Luna Bastos (BR), illunis (AT), FUX (GER), ALOR (GER), AAFK Anny Chong (CR), June (CA/KOR), HYDRANE (FR) and MYLOW (TN)
Participating street artists will live painting between Friday, 28th of July, to Sunday, 30th of July 2023, on different walls located all over Werksviertel Mitte in Munich. There will be an opening ceremony on the 29th of July, graffiti workshops, tours, exhibitions and a party on Saturday 29th of July at Wombar, Wombat‘s City Hostel.
