Altrove Street Art Festival, Catanzaro, Italy, 2016

Carrying on from last years success, the third edition of Altrove Street Art Festival has just finished. The street art festival, created in 2014 with the aim to re-educate the concept of beauty in neglected urban areas, will turn derelict urban areas into places with a meaning and bring them back from social degradation.

The Street artists invited to create invisible boundaries between art, abstract and architecture are 2501, Alberonero, Alexey Luka, Aris, CT, Ekta, Gue, Nelio, Domenico Romeo, THTF – work on different wall surfaces as well as on the natural landscape, entered to ‘ inside the urban fabric of the Calabrian city, through the implementation of contemporary urban art.

There has been a great response from the residents Catanzaro that not only supported the initiative, but all united by the desire to revive the city and its historical centre.

“we are giving a new face to the city of Catanzaro, a city with courage is proving ready to accommodate and support contemporary art in all its expressive forms. And the enthusiasm with which responded Catanzaro is huge incentive to work immediately to organize the next edition. ” Vincenzo Costantino
