Magic city, Street art exhibition, Dresden Germany 2016

Since the beginning of October something magical has been happening in Dresden. ‘MAGIC CITY – THE ART OF THE STREET‘ is an exhibition full of creativity from an international list of uber talented street artists. In a unique collaboration the invited artists have created their own global dream city, which is open for visitodrs to explore in all its fascination.

MAGIC CITY presents today’s most vital and imaginative art form – Street Art – in all its diversity. Visitors are invited to embark on a journey of discovery addressing all of the senses, presenting, celebrating, and describing the wonderful world of Street Art. A 2,500 square-metre model city will stage imaginative graffiti and fly-posts everywhere, amazing 3D illusions of anamorphic art, and strange objects and sculptures; then, around the next corner, multimedia installations and epic murals are waiting and in contrast small figures are waiting to be discovered.

They declared that their goal was to create a “playground for the imagination”, in a new hybrid form – on the one hand a classic exhibition, but without “art in frames”, and on the other, a type of street festival allowing visitors the freedom to wander through the rich displays without the need of a guide, just a map in hand!

As you walk into Magic city you will be greeted by the works of artist Akrylonumerik, where digital meets Street Art meets music in the eight-member collective’s interactive multimedia installation.

Then across by the toilets the work of Wenu crew. With his highly illustrated city encouraging the viewer to look at every detail.
