Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans, Bimini Bahamas 2021

Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans is PangeaSeed Foundation’s groundbreaking ARTivism program that brings the message of ocean conservation into streets around the world.

From September to October, Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans travelled to Bimini in the beautiful Bahamas to help create positive action for its oceans through ARTivism, addressing specific environmental concerns, such as waste management, protecting the ocean and ocean life, and island beautification.

The mural concepts, locations, and youth outreach were created through a collaborative process with community leaders and residents. The project is an educational tool that builds a community around the common cause of creating positive change and protecting the island’s natural resources.

Artists invited were Amanda Joy Bowers (Haiku, Hawaii) Angelika Wallace-Whitfield (Nassau, Bahamas) Nicole Salgar (Miami, USA) , Kai Kaulukukui (USA), Tratos (USA) and Taj Francis (Kingston, Jamaica).

Sponsored by Virgin Voyages, the Bimini Sea Walls project used Smog Armor carbon-absorbing paint.
