Skien Street Art Festival, Southern Norway 2018

Art for All in the World just wrapped up their latest project in Skien, Norway. AfAitW partnered up with Heart for Skien and organised a street mural festival, inviting ten street artists to paint the town of Skien.

“The projects main idea was to colour the lives of the citizens in Skien and make art accessible for all. Since the project finished there has been a new positive energy in the city and the economy is flourishing. The project celebrates inclusiveness, tolerance, and diversity and refugees and marginalised groups participated in the project.” Peter Claesson co-founder AfAitW

Skien is one of the oldest towns in Southern Norway, and sits on the Skienselva river. The city of Skien was also the birthplace of famous playwright Henrik Ibsen.

“Many of the walls also shows the cities fascinating history which makes people proud to know where they came from. Our partner organisation in Skien was Heart for Skien which is a brilliant organisation with very professional and magical people.” Peter Claesson co-founder AfAitW
