Street artist Ana Marietta Embraces Peace in Kiev, Ukraine 2016

Street artist Ana Marietta has just finished painting her huge mural in Kiev, Ukraine for the Art United Us project. Art United Us project unites two hundred artists through mural art and the promulgation of maintaining peace on Earth, and is curated by Geo Leros, Iryna Kanishcheva and Waone Interesni Kazki.

Ana researched Ukraine’s political situation for her Mural “El Abrazo del Sosiego”, meaning “Embrace of Peace”. She wanted the design to bring colour and a calming influence to Kiev and to the many people who walk through it everyday. The colourful birds painted are inspired by the mythological Rise of the Phoenix embracing a human soul. The human figure is looking forward into the future and the emphasis of preparing our five senses, (touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste), for the days to come with strength and determination.

“Walking through the streets of Kiev, I was able to witness beauty in so many ways. The architecture, the beautiful people, their kindness… I wanted to skip the language barrier and connect with people, bringing them something that could brighten their days, sending them a message of solidarity, of love.” Ana

Check out the photos below by Anton Kuleba of Ana Marietta’s mural, that now promotes peace and the future to the residents of Kiev.
Check back at a later date for more murals from Art United Us project.
