The Hoy Villa Francisca Urban Art Project, Dominican Republic 2018

Hoy Villa Francisca Urban Art Festival, curated by Modafoca, just wrapped up its second successful year transforming the Villa Francisca into an open air art gallery. The festival ran from the 25th June – 1 July 2018.

The community lead festival transformed the city space with colourful art, highlighting cultural and social values within this area of the Dominican Republic’s capital.

Urban artists invited to paint from Dominican Republic were; Evoca1, Angurria, Ivanna Candelier, Medio Pesord, Poteleche, Los Plebeyos and Spear Torres, Zayas joined them from Puerto Rico.

There is also an open call for artists and students to paint walls in a designated area called”Suite Local”. For more information follow Hoy Villa Francisca on instagram. The event starts July 29th 2018.
