Pejac’s “A Forest” is a breathtaking art portraying towering industrial chimneys spewing out thick smoke. What’s truly remarkable about the painting is the intricate forest scene that is cleverly hidden within the smoke, complete with birds soaring through the air. This hidden forest serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating impact of forest fires caused by global warming. The artwork is a powerful call to action, urging us to take immediate steps to address climate change and protect our planet’s precious natural resources.
Pejac’s exhibition of the same name, “A Forest”, where the original canvas was displayed at Squero di San Trovaso, Venice, celebrated the venue’s 400-year history of manual labour. The artist’s work added to the existing beauty and soulfulness of the workshop. Pejac’s pieces were created using everyday construction material as the base, and he re-purposed common objects to create complex narratives around seemingly insignificant wooden snippets. The showcase pointed to the larger issue of global warming and the ongoing threat of sinking faced by UNESCO’s World Heritage City.
